Congo and Uganda kill dozens of rebels suspected in UN killings
President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday visited United Nations (UN) Tanzanian peacekeepers, who are admitted at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
On 14th/12/17, the UPDF spokesman - Brig. Richard Karemire told Ugandans that ADF are around 100 to 150 personnel. On 24th December, he came out to say that the UPDF operation is going as planned and 100 ADF bandits have been killed.
From the look and speed of this military operation, ADF is a finished force and UPDF should start pulling - withdrawing back its forces and equipments from DR Congo. Obviously, it won't happen, because they are not fighting the ADF, the ADF was neutralised years back. The current military operation in DR Congo is aimed at whipping ought Kagame's special forces with their Ugandan outfit elements who were gradually building a formidable force to strike Uganda.
The objectives of neutralising this force in eastern DR Congo is still on going and it's painfully slow than what Brig. Richard Karemire is telling Ugandans. In past military operations, UPDF loved to take journalists to the front line for P.R related imaging. This time around, because the ongoing operations have diplomatic and international relations complexity, a cold war operational approach was more preferred by men at Mbuya.
